Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 68.7% To 8,558, Number Of Deaths Up 2.4 Times To 188 On January 17
On January 17, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 8,558 over January 16 to 3,768,088, and the number of deaths increased by 188 over January 16 to 98,549; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 68.7%, and the number of new deaths increased 2.4 times.
This follows from data of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to the report, as of the morning of January 18, a total of 3,768,088 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 98,549 deaths; 3,561,923 had recovered.
On January 17, a total of 8,558 new disease cases were recorded, 188 people died, and 5,761 people recovered.
Therefore, as of January 17, the number of newly infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (8,558 vs 5,761).
At the same time, on January 17, a total of 1,125 coronavirus-infected people were hospitalized, down 7.3% over January 16.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 16, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 5,072 over January 15 to 3,759,530, and the number of deaths increased by 78 over January 15 to 98,361; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 20.5%, and the number of new deaths decreased by 11.4%.
On January 15, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 6,379 over January 14 to 3,754,458, and the number of deaths increased by 88 over January 14 to 98,283; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 39.6%, and the number of new deaths decreased by 30.7%.
