State Commission On Technogenic And Environmental Safety And Emergencies Transfers Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Cherkasy And Chernihiv Regions From "Red" To "Yellow" Epidemic Zone From December 23
The State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies has transferred Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions from the "red" to the "yellow" zone of epidemic danger from December 23.
The Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleh Nemchinov announced this on his Telegram channel following a meeting of the commission, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Based on the results (of the meeting), the State Commission decided to establish from 12:00 a.m. on December 23 the "yellow" level of epidemic danger in the territory of Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions,” he wrote.
The State Commission decided to apply on the territory of Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions restrictive anti-epidemic measures provided for the "yellow" level of epidemic danger.
Thus, two regions remain in the "red" zone of epidemic danger: Volyn and Zaporizhia regions.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 6, a reduction in the validity period of the "yellow" certificate from 120 to 30 days and a change in the rules of operation of public institutions and institutions in the "yellow" zone of epidemic danger came into force.
The State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies transferred Kyiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankovsk, Luhansk, Lviv, Odesa, Rivne and Kherson regions from the "red" to the "yellow" zone of epidemic danger from December 7.
On December 20, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 6,029 over December 19 to 3,616,716, and the number of deaths increased by 346 over December 19 to 93,608; at the same time, the number of new cases rose 2.4 times, and the number of new deaths rose 2.2 times.
According to the report, as of the morning of December 21, a total of 3,616,716 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 93,608 deaths; 3,357,405 had recovered.
On December 20, a total of 6,029 new disease cases were recorded, 346 people died, and 18,850 people recovered.
Therefore, as of December 20, the number of newly infected people was lower than that of those who recovered (6,029 vs 18,850).
At the same time, on December 20, a total of 1,061 coronavirus-infected people were hospitalized, down 15.5% over December 19.
