Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 14.3% To 7,986, Number Of New Lethal Cases Up 4.7% To 243 On December 29

On December 29, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 7,986 over December 28 to 1,045,348, and the number of deaths increased by 243 over December 28 to 18,324; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 14.3%, and the number of new lethal cases rose 4.7%.

The National Security and Defense Council has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as at the morning of December 30, there were 1,045,348 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 18,324 lethal cases; besides, 698,190 people had recovered.

On December 29, a total of 7,986 new cases of the disease were recorded, 243 people died, and 16,355 people recovered.

Therefore, as at December 29, the indicator of newly-infected people was lower than the number of those, who recovered (7,986 vs 16,355).

As at the morning of December 30, the overall number of those, who are staying ill with the Covid-19 (less the recovered and died) made 347,158, up 2.9% over December 29.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (110,139), Odesa region (70,592), and Kharkiv region (68,807).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 60,923 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 58,537; Dnipropetrovsk region – 58,094 cases, Zaporizhia region – 53,428, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 43,072, Rivne region – 40,672, Sumy region – 40,305, Chernivtsi region - 39,815, Zhytomyr region – 38,720, Khmelnytskyi region – 38,833, Cherkasy region – 38,696, and Donetsk region – 35,905.

A total of 35,788 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 33,789 cases – in Ternopil region, 32,735 cases - in Volyn region, 30,500 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 29,633 cases – in Chernihiv region, 28,065 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 22,242 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 17,497 cases – in Kherson region, 10,218 – in Luhansk region, and 8,345 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 28, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 6,988 over December 27 to 1,037,362, and the number of deaths increased by 232 over December 27 to 18,081; at the same time, the number of new cases rose by 59.4%, and the number of new lethal cases rose 3.1 times.

On December 27, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 4,385 over December 26 to 1,030,374, and the number of deaths increased by 75 over December 26 to 17,849; at the same time, the number of new cases fell by 28.3%, and the number of new lethal cases rose by 4.2%.
