Kyiv To Invite Tender Before April 2018 On Building Wi-Fi Network In Subway
The Kyiv city state administration intends to invite a tender before April 2018 on building Wi-Fi network in the Kyiv subway.
Yurii Nazarov, director of a department of the Kyiv city state administration, announced this to Ukrainian News Agency.
The terms of the tender will be defined later. The major condition will be free access to the internet at all stations of the subway.
Ukrainian and international companies will be allowed to take part in the tender.
On February 13, the Kyiv city state administration announced in its Khreschatyk Newspaper that it broke a contract with Mosquito Mobile on February 1. The company was selected at a tender in 2014 for construction and equipment of Wi-Fi network in the Kyiv subway.
The company has stopped developing the Wi-Fi network in the subway over financial issues. The company has been declared bankrupt.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Kyiv city state administration, Kyivskyi Metropoliten (the municipal enterprise that operates the Kyiv subway system), and Fidomobile telecommunications operator signed an agreement on construction and equipment of Wi-Fi network in the Kyiv subway in December 2014.
Services were provided under Mosquito brand.
