SBU Suspects Gloria Jeans Of Financing Terrorism
The Security Service of Ukraine suspects a maker of garments - Gloria Jeans - of the so-called Luhansk People's Republic.
A source in law enforcement agencies said this to Ukrainian News Agency.
The source gave no further details.
According to the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine, a popular maker of garments has organized production in territories not controlled by the Ukrainian government in Luhansk region.
The garments manufactured in the so-called Luhansk People's Republic are sold in stores of the company throughout Ukraine.
According to the SBU, the company paid taxes to the so-called "tax bodies" of the Luhansk People's Republic and the money was used to finance the illegal armed formations.
Detectives of the Security Service of Ukraine have held searches in offices and warehouses in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and Poltava regions and found a lot of commodities and documents.
The detectives have established that the commodities were manufactured at production facilities located in the in territories not controlled by the Ukrainian government in Luhansk region.
The detectives have established that the garments were brought to Ukraine through Russia. The company forged documents to state that the commodities were manufactured in Russia or in some other countries.
Investigation continues.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Prosecutor General's Office suspects some officials of the Ukrzaliznytsia public joint stock company of financing terrorism.
