Sytnyk Confirms NACB Procuring Training Suits From Entrepreneur Lytvyn Suspected Of Involvement In Internal Ministry's Backpacks Procurement Fraud For National Guard

Director of the National Anticorruption Bureau (NACB) Artem Sytnyk has confirmed that the NACB purchased a batch of training suits from businessman Volodymyr Lytvyn suspected of involvement in the procurement fraud of backpacks to the National Guards by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Sytnyk said this at the Friday meeting of the Verkhovna Rada's Committee on Corruption Prevention and Counteraction, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In particular, Sytnyk said that Lytvyn offered the lowest price, dismissing claims that the training suits were of poor quality.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov's son Oleksandr, former deputy minister of internal affairs Serhii Chebotar and businessman Volodymyr Lytvyn were suspected of the procurement fraud worth UAH 14 million during state procurement by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of backpacks for the National Guard.
