Parubiy Signs Into Law 3 New Procedural Codes
Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Andrii Parubiy has signed into law three new procedural codes and provisions that regulate activity of new Supreme Court.
This is said in the respective bill No.6232 published on the Parliament's website, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
On October 30, the bill was handed to President Petro Poroshenko for signature.
President has 15 days to either approve or veto the bill.
The bill was passed by Rada on October 3.
According to the Rada's procedural rules, a bill within 10 days must be formalized by the main parliamentary committee, signed-off by the committee's chairperson and responsible internal units and handed to the Rada's Chairperson for signature.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the National Anticorruption Bureau (NACB) called on President Petro Poroshenko to veto the bill No.6232 that regulates activity of new Supreme Court due to provisions contained in the bill that establish new limits on a pre-trial investigation, in particular, limiting it to a six-months period as opposed to previous 18 months.
