Defense Ministry Takes Measures Against 20 Military Officers Due To Supply Of Poor-Quality Food To Military Units

The Ministry of Defense has taken disciplinary measures against more than 20 military officers based on the outcome of an investigation into supply of poor-quality food products to military units.

Dmytro Marchenko, the head of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' main department for development and material support, announced this at a news briefing, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Marchenko added that Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak signed an order on dismissal of the head of one of the laboratories that checked the food from the Armed Forces on Friday and that materials related to this officer have been sent to the Prosecutor-General's Office.

According to him, the officer in question is Colonel Hurin.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Defense took disciplinary measures against 16 military officers for delivery of poor-quality food products to military units in September.
