Rada Obliges Tour Organizers To Inform SBU 30 Days In Advance In Event Of Participation Of Stage Performers From Russia

The Verkhovna Rada has obliged tour organizers to give a 30-days notice to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) ahead of a tour that includes stage performers from the aggressor state.

A total of 232 parliamentary members backed the respective bill No. 6682, when 226 votes were enough to pass the decision, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The law stipulates that a tour organizer must provide the SBU with valid information containing the name and surname of a stage performer as it is indicated in an entry document to Ukraine, as well as stage name, participation in other stage enterprises, and any other information that characterizes a professional activity of the stage performer.

The SBU will respond within 10 days upon receiving such information.

If the SBU's response is affirmative, the tour organizer may proceed with entering into an agreement with the respective stage performer.

However, after receiving a validation from the SBU, the tour organizer must keep in mind that legal grounds for withholding an entry permit to a citizen from the aggressor country may arise later, after the initial issuance of the permission from the SBU in response to an entry request.

The law also envisages an administrative-economic responsibility for breaking the rules to a tour organizer in a form of a fine between 50 and 100 minimal wages.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Deputy Prime Minister Viyacheslav Kyrylenko called for creation of a register of tour organizers who maintain a practice of inviting Russian stage performers with tainted reputation of violating Ukrainian laws.
