UIA To Charge Passengers Of Domestic And Medium-Haul Flights At Check-In Desks Of Airports From October 1

The Ukraine International Airlines airline company will charge passengers of domestic and medium-haul flights at check-in desks of airports starting October 1, 2017.

This is said in the rules of online check-in for UIA flights, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Effective 1 October 2017, passengers travelling Economy Class on medium-haul and domestic flights should print out or download their boarding pass on their mobile device in advance. An extra charge will apply for issuing each boarding pass at the airport check-in desk. This does not apply to UIA long-haul flights," reads the statement.

The rule currently applies to Kyiv-Riga/Riga-Kyiv routes only.

Online check-in remains free.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Ukraine International Airlines airline company began to charge EUR 20 passengers of the Kyiv - Riga flight at check-in desks of airports starting July 1, 2017.

In compliance with the international accounting standards, in 2016, Kyiv-based Ukraine International Airlines air company received net profit of UAH 387.885 million.

In 2016, the airlines increased its net revenues by 35.8% or UAH 4.696 billion year over year to UAH 17.829 billion.

The UIA fleet consists of 42 aircraft, of which 22 are Boeing 737 NG.

One of the ultimate beneficiaries of the airline company is PrivatBank's former co-owner Ihor Kolomoiskyi.
