NACB Searching Energy Commission's Office

The National Anticorruption Bureau (NACB) is searching the office of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities.

Ukrainian News agency learnt this from a well-informed source.

According to the report, people wearing NACB uniform are currently gathering near the office.

Energy Commission's press service refused to comment on the information.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, NACB is investigating abuse of office by members of the Energy Commission during electric energy pricing under the Rotterdam+ formula.

NACB lodged 10 filings to the court where it claimed that it started (on March 24, 2017) a criminal investigation over the facts of power abuse by Energy Commission officials when they adopted the decision No.289 On Approval of Order of Formation of Forecast Wholesale Price for Electric Energy.

In particular, the formula of the calculation of electric energy cost includes the cost of purchase of fuel at the Rotterdam port and its shipment to Ukraine by sea (the Rotterdam+ formula), which unjustly drives the price up for the Enerhorynok company that buys power from power generating companies based on a system of price bids.
