Court Suspends Hearing Appeal Against Arrest Of Strana.Ua Editor-In-Chief Huzhva With Bail Of UAH 0.5 Million For July 14

The Kyiv Court of Appeal has suspended hearing of the appeal against the arrest of editor-in-chief of the Strana.ua online media Ihor Huzhva with the bail of UAH 0.5 million for 10 a.m. of July 14.

Respective decision was taken on Tuesday, June 4, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The hearing is suspended as the Kyiv Court of Appeal had not received materials from the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv.

Besides, in compliance with the appeal, the bail is offered to be raised from UAH 0.5 million to UAH 3.2 million.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on June 24, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv arrested Huzhva and set the bail at UAH 544,000.

On June 26, deputy editor-in-chief Svitlana Kriukova paid the bail for Huzhva.

On June 27, Huzhva left the pretrial detention center.
