Poroshenko Predicts Negotiations In Normandy Format June 26 - July 2

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko predicts that the negotiations of leaders of countries of the Normandy Format (Ukraine, Germany, France, and Russia) will take place next week (June 26 - July 2).

President Poroshenko announced this during a joint news briefing with President of the European Council Donald Tusk in Brussels on June 22, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

President Poroshenko says very effective steps were taken on the international arena in the past few weeks to support Ukraine. He voices hope that the efforts will yield peace in the east of Ukraine.

Sviatoslav Tseholko, press secretary for the President of Ukraine, specified on Twitter that the negotiations will be in the format of phone conference following a meeting of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko with President of France Emmanuel Macron.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, France highlights its support to the negotiations in the Normandy Format for resolution of the situation in Donbas.

On June 19, 2017, President Petro Poroshenko has congratulated President of France Emmanuel Macron on win of his party - LREM - at the parliamentary elections.
