Constitutional Court Appoints Kryvenko Its Acting Chair

The Constitutional Court (CC) has appointed Viktor Kryvenko its acting chairperson.

Ukrainian News Agency has learnt this from a well-informed source.

The date of election of new chairperson of the court still has been appointed.

In the absence of Kryvenko, his duties will be assigned to the second senior judge - Serhii Sas.

Kryvenko was elected to the panel of the Constitutional Court on November 13, 2015 at the congress of judges.

Before his appointment he was a judge at Supreme Court.

Kryvenko was born on August 6, 1955, graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, was awarded the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the fifth degree.

Kryvenko was on the Supreme Court's judicial panel that voted in favor of a repeat voting in the elections of 2004 that brought victory to Viktor Yuschenko.

In 2015, Kryvenko and his spouse declared 13 land plots, a retail and entertainment mall and a hotel.

In particular, the judge owns seven land plots and his spouse owns six land plots.

The Kryvenko's family also owns three garages, two apartments and two houses.

Kryvenko's spouse declared 100% ownership of a mini-hotel and a shopping and leisure center.

In addition, Kryvenko and his spouse declared cars Lexus lx570 (2008 production year), Mercedes-Benz S350 (2008), Mercedes-Benz C250 (2011) and a truck ZAZ-Lanos TF55Y022 (2012).

Besides, Kryvenko's spouse declared letting UAH 3 million.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Yurii Baulin was chairperson of the CC in the period from March 18, 2014 to March 18, 2017, and from Mach 18 to June 3, 2017 he had been acting chairperson of the court.

Baulin's commissions as a judge of the CC issued for the period of nine years expired on June 3.
