White House: Trump Reaffirms Desire To Work With Ukraine To Peacefully Resolve Donbas Conflict
United States President Donald Trump has reaffirmed his desire to work with Ukraine to resolve the conflict in Donbas peacefully.
The White House press service announced this in a statement after United States Vice President Mike Pence and Trump met with Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin, Ukrainian News reports.
According to the statement, Pence stressed that the Minsk agreements remain the most viable path towards peace.
"Following that meeting, the President (Donald Trump) spoke with the Foreign Minister (Pavlo Klimkin) and reaffirmed U.S. support for Ukraine and his desire to work with our Ukrainian partners to peacefully resolve the conflict," the statement said.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the United States has emphasized its continued support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Klimkin attended a meeting of the Munich Security Conference's core group in Washington from May 8 to 10.
