Court Allows Arrest Of "DPR" Leader Zakharchenko
The Kyiv Appeal Court has allowed arrest of the "head" of the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" Olexander Zakharchenko.
The press service of the court announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The statement reads that Zakharchenko is suspected in participation in the activities of the terrorist organization "Donetsk People's Republic."
The decision of the court is valid six months.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in January 2017, the Dnipropetrovsk regional prosecutor's office handed to a court an indictment against Ihor Plotnytskyi, the "head" of the so-called "Luhansk People's Republic," accused of involvement in downing of an Il-76 plane in Luhansk in June 2014.
Court Arrests Ex-Minister Klymenko In Absentia
(Ukrainian News, Oleh Chernysh, 02/09/2017) The Kyiv Appeal Court has arrested former Minister of Revenue and Duties Oleksandr Klymenko in absentia.
The press service of the court announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
On 8 February 2017, the Kyiv Appeal Court selected a measure of preventive punishment in kind of arrest and ruled that when arrested Oleksandr Klymenko shall be brought to a court which shall decide a matter of preventive punishment for him within 48 hours.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has established that former Minister of Revenue and Duties Oleksandr Klymenko is living in Russia.
