Groysman: Works To Restore Power Supply In Avdiivka Kick Off

Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman says that the works have started to clear mines on the territory of the power line in Avdiivka, Donetsk Region in order to restore power supply in the town.

He announced this during a Cabinet of Ministers session, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Two pyrotechnic squads of the State Emergency Situations Service have been engaged in the mine clearance, and two repair teams will proceed to the restoration of power supply immediately upon the mine clearance.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, rescuers have evacuated 200 Avdiivka residents over the militants' shelling.

The Trilateral Contact Group (TCG; Ukraine - Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) - Russia) for resolving the situation in Donbas is meeting on Wednesday to discuss the situation in the area of Avdiivka, Donetsk Region.

Before, the Emergencies Service said that Avdiivka had been left without power and water supply.
