The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities intends to increase by 21.7% the average weighted heat energy tariff for consumers other than population because of the higher natural gas price.

The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities posted a draft resolution on the matter on its website, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The Energy Commission will consider the draft resolution at its meeting on December 2.

The Energy Commission intends to increase the average weighted heat energy tariff from the current UAH 1,104.97/Gcal to UAH 1,345.15/Gcal (by 21.7%).

The intention to increase the heat energy tariff accounts for higher natural gas price.

Also, the Energy Commission intends to compensate heating companies for the difference between the real natural gas cost in November (UAH 6,054.66 per 1,000 cubic meters) and the cost of the natural gas calculated in the heat energy tariff in November (UAH 5,286 per 1,000 cubic meters).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint-stock company set the prices of natural gas for industrial consumers and state-financed institutions from December 1, 2016 at UAH 6,484-7,148 for 1,000 c.m. (cubic metres) depending on terms of consumption and payment, 4.8-5.4% higher than in November (UAH 6,150-6,819 for 1,000 c.m.) (all prices net of VAT).
