MP Ariyev: PACE Bureau Denies Russia Accelerating Procedures Of Changing Rules Of Assembly In Favor Of RF

Member of the Ukrainian Parliament of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction / Chair of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Volodymyr Ariyev, says the PACE Bureau has denied Russia accelerating procedures of introducing changes in the rules of the Assembly in favor of the Russian Federation.

He wrote this on his page in Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

He says there will be debates on the matter in political groups of the PACE and the question will be considered by the PACE Bureau on October 14.

Volodymyr Ariyev says the latest events in Aleppo (Syria) and the preliminary findings of the international investigation team on the crash of the place of Malaysian Airlines have changed stances in the PACE not in favor of Russia.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Verkhovna Rada deputy Volodymyr Ariyev, the leader of the Ukrainian delegation to the PACE, says some members of the PACE have been bribed by Russia.

In April 2014, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe suspended the right of the Russian delegation to vote following the annexation of the Crimea by Russia.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has more than once extended the suspension for the armed aggression against Ukraine.

Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine's envoy to the Council of Europe, says a number of officials of the PACE are interested in renewal of the right of the Russian delegation to vote.
