Kharkiv Regional Military Administration denies reports that all gas stations on highway from Kharkiv to Poltava were destroyed

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, denied reports circulating online that all gas stations along the highway from Kharkiv to Poltava had been destroyed. At the same time, he noted that the situation is “quite serious.”

He made this statement during a televised marathon.

“I would like to emphasize: reports by some media outlets claiming that there are no functioning gas stations left on the highway from Kharkiv to Poltava are not true. There is no fuel shortage in the region,” Syniehubov said.

It should be noted that the day before, Oleksandr Skoryk, a member of the Kharkiv Regional Council, claimed that gas stations along the highway from Kharkiv to Poltava had been completely destroyed. At the same time, he said that despite the widespread destruction of the fuel infrastructure, there is currently no fuel or food crisis.

The head of the Regional Military Administration also added that measures for physical passive protection had been agreed upon in collaboration with representatives of gas station chains.

“We will implement them. We will adopt these protective measures at the regional defense council as mandatory conditions for operating within the city of Kharkiv and the Kharkiv Region. Because we really need to ensure the safety of the gas station operators themselves, those who work there, and those who come to refuel. However, the challenges are quite serious. Fortunately, we currently have no fuel shortage,” Syniehubov said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Viktor Mykyta, deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, stated that Ukraine is considering granting gas stations in frontline regions the status of critical infrastructure facilities.
