Gas stations in frontline regions may be granted critical infrastructure status - President's Office

Ukraine is considering granting gas stations in frontline regions the status of critical infrastructure facilities. Viktor Mykyta, the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, has announced this following an on-site operational meeting in the Sumy Region.

Granting this status will allow for the allocation of additional resources to protect gas stations and ensure their uninterrupted operation amid constant threats. According to the official, the decision to strengthen security measures was prompted by the changing situation and systematic attacks by russian forces on civilian infrastructure, including gas stations, grocery stores, civilian transport, and residential areas.

As part of efforts to counter enemy drones, more than 400 km of roads in the Sumy Region have already been covered with anti-drone nets, and several hundred more kilometers are currently being equipped. In addition, the Sumy Regional Military Administration and local communities have been instructed to increase funding and logistical support for air defense units, particularly mobile fire teams and unmanned aerial vehicle crews.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, all gas stations from Kharkiv to Poltava have been destroyed by the russians.
