Passenger trains to Zaporizhzhia have not run for the third day due to intensified russian shelling

Passenger rail service to Zaporizhzhia has been temporarily suspended due to constant strikes by the russian army. This was stated by the Minister of Reconstruction, Infrastructure and Transport Mykola Kalashnyk during a working trip to the frontline region.

"Unfortunately, for the third day now, due to russian attacks and the security situation, passenger trains have not run directly to Zaporizhzhia," the head of the ministry said.

As part of the visit, the official personally inspected the state of protection of railway infrastructure facilities, noting that its stable operation is of critical importance for the country's security and logistics in wartime.

In addition to railway junctions, Mykola Kalashnyk, together with the leadership of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, inspected key energy facilities and one of the water supply facilities. A coordination meeting was also held in the region, dedicated to the region's preparation for the upcoming heating season.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 23, the russian federation struck Zaporizhzhia and Slovyansk in the evening. More than 30 people were injured.
