Large-scale fires break out at Wildberries facilities near St. Petersburg following drone attack

On the night of July 24, drones struck the Leningrad Oblast and Tver. The attack sparked massive fires at key logistics centers belonging to the russian marketplace Wildberries in St. Petersburg and the surrounding region.

According to the ASTRA Telegram channel, two key facilities were hit: a complex in the village of Shushary (Pushkinsky District of St. Petersburg) and the “Utkina Zavod” logistics park in Novosaratovka, Vsevolozhsky District. Wildberries’ press service confirmed the incidents and announced the temporary suspension of operations at both sites.

The complex in Shushary is one of the largest in the region, covering an area of approximately 106,000 square meters. At the “Utkina Zavod” logistics park, which has a total area of 210,000 square meters, the fire engulfed at least three buildings. In addition to the Wildberries warehouses, the fire spread to a building housing the distribution center of the construction company “Petrovich.”

Leningrad Oblast Governor Aleksandr Drozdenko stated that russian air defense forces allegedly shot down 59 drones over the region. Due to the attack and the threat from the air, about 50 flights were delayed at St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, explosions were heard in the occupied Crimea, and the Wildberries hub in Simferopol was hit.

On July 22, Ukrainian drones struck a Wildberries warehouse in Krasnodar. Another similar facility was attacked in the city of Nevinnomyssk in the Stavropol Krai. A massive fire broke out at both warehouses following the attacks.
