Factory producing anti-aircraft missiles in Kirov in russia hit by missile strike

On the morning of July 24, the russian city of Kirov came under a missile attack. According to preliminary reports, the Aviatek plant—one of the key enterprises of russia’s military-industrial complex—was hit. Monitoring and OSINT channels reported the attacks, which occurred around 7 a.m.

After the explosions, a fire broke out on the factory grounds, and a large plume of smoke rose above the facility.

The Aviatek plant specializes in the production of aviation equipment and products for russia’s defense industry. In particular, the plant is involved in the production of the “Tor” anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as the Kh-101 and Kh-59M2/Kh-59M2A cruise missiles, supplying components for their engines. In addition, the plant manufactures, repairs, and modernizes K-36DM ejection seats for russian Su-34 and Su-57 fighter jets.

Local and regional authorities in the russian federation have not yet commented on the situation or the consequences of the attack.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, large-scale fires broke out at Wildberries facilities near St. Petersburg following a drone attack.

Explosions were heard in the occupied Crimea, and the Wildberries hub in Simferopol was hit.
