After Syrskyi's resignation, Fedorov called him and addressed new Commander-in-Chief Drapatyi

Former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has publicly commented for the first time on personnel changes in the military leadership of Ukraine. He said that after his resignation, he called the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, thanked him for his service, and congratulated Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi on his appointment as Commander-in-Chief.

Fedorov wrote about this on his social networks.

According to Fedorov, during the conversation he thanked Oleksandr Syrskyi for the defense of the Kyiv Region, the Kharkiv offensive operation and other military operations, which, according to him, became an important part of the history of Ukraine.

At the same time, the former minister noted that the country needs to move faster and take into account the mistakes of past years.

"We need to move even faster and write new chapters, correcting all previous mistakes," Fedorov wrote.

Separately, Fedorov congratulated the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykhailo Drapatyi.

He called his appointment "new air and new hope" and expressed hope that the new military leadership will offer a clear vision of ending the war.

According to Fedorov, the main tasks should include:

• preserving the lives of Ukrainian military personnel;
• robotization of the front;
• carrying out asymmetric strikes on russia;
• exhausting the russian economy.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the resignation of Oleksandr Syrskyi and the appointment of Mykhailo Drapatyi during an evening address.

Together with Syrskyi, Andriy Hnatov left the post of Chief of the General Staff.

Zelenskyy also confirmed that he had met with Mykhailo Fedorov. The President said that he had offered the former Minister of Defense a new position in the government.
