During Leshchenko's tenure, Ukrzaliznytsia suffered losses of UAH 32 billion
During Serhii Leshchenko's tenure on supervisory board of Ukrzaliznytsia (since December 2019), the company suffered a loss of over UAH 32 billion.
This follows from an analysis of the company's financial statements for the relevant period, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Serhii Leshchenko was appointed to the supervisory board of Ukrzaliznytsia in December 2019. In the same year, Ukrzaliznytsia received a profit of about UAH 3 billion.
The following 2020, the company already suffered a colossal loss of almost UAH 12 billion, while Serhii Leshchenko received a salary of over UAH 2.5 million for the same year.
In the following years of operation and up to 2025 inclusive, Ukrzaliznytsia only received a profit for the year twice - in 2021 in the amount of about UAH 0.5 billion and in 2023 in the amount of about UAH 5 billion.
In 2021, Serhii Leshchenko received a record salary for the entire time he worked on the carrier's supervisory board - over UAH 3.9 million, and in 2023 - almost UAH 3 million per year.
In general, during Serhii Leshchenko's tenure, Ukrzaliznytsia suffered a loss almost 4 times greater than its profit – UAH 32 billion in loss versus UAH 8.5 billion in profit.
During Serhii Leshchenko's tenure, Ukrzaliznytsia changed 6 managers (chairmen of the board and acting chairmen of the board).
Serhii Leshchenko received almost UHA 18 million in salary from December 2019 to 2025 inclusively.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in June of this year, Serhii Leshchenko complained that after paying taxes, he receives only UAH 186,000 in salary at Ukrzaliznytsia. In addition, he suggested that everyone go to the territorial recruitment centers to defeat russia, but he himself refused because he has reservations at Ukrzaliznytsia.
