New evidence emerged in case of murder of brothers in Kyiv Region: weapons seized in Dnipropetrovsk Region

In the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk Region, law enforcement officers discovered two small arms that may be related to the high-profile case of the kidnapping and murder of two men in the Kyiv Region.

This was reported by the Military Law Enforcement Service.

It is noted that the searches were conducted on July 9 in one of the communities of the region as part of the investigation of criminal proceedings under articles of intentional murder and illegal deprivation of liberty.

During the investigative actions, law enforcement officers seized two small arms. According to the preliminary version of the investigation, it could have been used by servicemen of one of the military units during the commission of crimes in the territory of the Kyiv Region. According to media reports, these are servicemen of the 155th separate mechanized brigade.

The seized weapon was handed over to investigators of the National Police for the necessary examinations. The specialists must establish whether it could have been used during the crime, as well as clarify other circumstances of the case.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 13, the commander of the 155th mechanized brigade, Stanislav Luchanov, was detained in the case of the kidnapping and murder of the Moseychuk brothers in the Kyiv Region. Luchanov became the tenth suspect in these criminal proceedings. On July 11, after the start of the investigation, Luchanov did not appear before law enforcement agencies, which is why he was put on the wanted list. The court also chose for him a preventive measure in the form of detention in absentia. On July 11, the Operational Command North confirmed the widespread media information about the search for the commander of the 155th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade (military unit A5001), Stanislav Luchanov, who left his place of duty without permission. A preventive measure was chosen for Stanislav Luchanov - detention without an alternative in the form of bail.
