Russia strikes outskirts of Sumy with cluster munitions: seven people wounded, including child
On the evening of July 14, russian troops attacked Sumy, reportedly using cluster munitions. A residential area on the outskirts of the city was hit. Seven people were injured in the shelling, including an 11-year-old boy.
Oleh Hryhorov, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, has reported this.
According to Artem Kobzar, the mayor of Sumy, the russian attack damaged residential buildings. Medical personnel diagnosed the 11-year-old boy with an acute stress reaction.
What is known about the victims?
According to updated information from Oleh Hryhorov, five people were hospitalized following the attack.
Among them are:
- two women and one man with injuries, who are under medical supervision and receiving the necessary medical care;
- two other men who, after examination, were transferred to outpatient care.
The head of the Regional Military Administration also warned that unexploded cluster munitions may remain near the site of the strike. He urged residents not to approach suspicious objects, not to touch them, and to immediately report any findings to rescue workers or the police.
As a reminder, on July 11, russian troops shelled the Sumy Region using guided aerial bombs, artillery, and attack drones. Six people were killed and 42 others were wounded over the course of the day. Among the victims were four children.
