Woman suspected of attempting to assassinate Yermolaiev in Monaco found dead near Kyiv - media reports
On Monday, July 6, the body of a woman suspected of attempting to murder sanctioned Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev was found near Kyiv.
It was reported by Ukrainska Pravda, citing sources in law enforcement agencies.
The publication’s sources claim that the woman’s body was found around 11:00 p.m. on July 6. According to the sources, the woman was shot to death.
It is reported that the woman was outside Ukraine from March 22, 2025, to July 1, 2026
Meanwhile, another source cited by the publication reported that two suspects have already been detained in connection with the case. One of them is a current officer with the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and the other is a former law enforcement officer.
As a reminder, on the evening of June 29, a powerful explosion occurred near a residential building in Monaco. According to preliminary findings from the investigation, an unknown individual left a backpack containing an explosive device near the building, after which the explosion occurred. At least three people were injured in the incident, two of whom are in critical condition. According to BFMTV, all the victims are Ukrainian citizens. Among them are Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev, his companion, and a 13-year-old teenager.
It was reported that Monaco’s investigators, who are looking into the explosion, are considering the possibility of the Ukrainian Security Service’s involvement.
The Prosecutor General's Office told the Ukrainian News agency that Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are searching within Ukraine for the perpetrators and masterminds behind the attempted murder of Vadym Yermolaiev, a Ukrainian businessman subject to sanctions, and members of his family in Monaco (France).
At a hospital in Nice, a woman who was injured in the explosion at a residential building in Monaco underwent an amputation of her lower limbs. Two other family members and two witnesses to the incident were also injured. Media reports identified the woman as Yermolaiev’s wife.
It later emerged that the woman injured in the Monaco explosion alongside Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev was Anna Nasobina, the daughter of Oleksandr Nasobin, a former deputy prosecutor of the Dnipropetrovsk Region. It had previously been reported that the victim was the oligarch’s wife.
According to Forbes, Yermolaiev ranks 23rd on the list of the 100 richest Ukrainians. Since December 23, 2023, he has been subject to Ukrainian sanctions for ten years due to his ties to companies operating in the occupied Crimea and Berdiansk.
