The Netherlands states that it can no longer provide direct military support to Ukraine
Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius, the Dutch Minister of Defense, stated on the sidelines of the summit that her country is no longer able to provide direct military support to Ukraine.
It was reported by Bloomberg.
Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius noted that she would urge other countries to help Ukraine, but the Netherlands, she said, has already done everything it could.
“We don’t have opportunities any more as the Netherlands because we have done so much,” she said.
Commenting separately on Ukraine’s request for Patriot missiles, the minister reiterated that the Netherlands “has reached the limits of its capabilities.”
The Netherlands has spent EUR 9.1 billion on military support for Ukraine, with another EUR 11.6 billion euros planned for spending.
In addition, the country has allocated EUR 1 billion to the PURL program, under which European allies pay for American weapons for Ukraine.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the United States is negotiating with Germany and other European countries regarding the launch of joint production of American missiles on European soil.
Earlier, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is awaiting Trump’s decision regarding the joint production of Patriot systems.
