Ukrainian security forces and prosecutors searching in Ukraine for perpetrators and orderers of attempted murder of businessman Yermolaev and his family members in Monaco

Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are searching in Ukraine for the perpetrators and orderers of the attempted murder of Ukrainian sanctioned businessman Vadym Yermolaev and his family members in Monaco (France).

Ukrainian News Agency was informed about this in the Prosecutor General's Office.

"Law enforcement officers are taking measures to identify the possible perpetrator of this crime on the territory of Ukraine, as well as persons who could have been involved in its organization and ordering," the Prosecutor General's Office reported.

The Prosecutor General's Office is cooperating with the competent authorities of the Principality of Monaco and other foreign partners to exchange information and coordinate further procedural actions.

The Prosecutor General's Office is also initiating the creation of an international investigative group, which will allow for more effective coordination of the investigation, identification of all those involved in the crime and ensuring their prosecution.

On July 1, the Prosecutor General's Office opened criminal proceedings into the attempted murder of Yermolaev and his family members in the Principality of Monaco.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Investigation Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office and operational support of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police.

According to the investigation, on June 29, an explosive device was detonated near a residential building in Monaco.

Three members of one family were injured as a result of the explosion.

The victims were hospitalized.

The information was entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 15, Subparts 1, 5, 11, Part 2 of Article 115 (completed attempted murder of two or more persons, committed in a manner dangerous to the lives of many persons, on order) of the Criminal Code.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Monaco investigators suspect the SSU's involvement in the explosion, during which Yermolayev was injured.
