On the night of July 5, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck a series of successful strikes on key facilities of the russian occupiers. The main target was the Hvardiyske military airfield in the temporarily occupied Crimea. The operation was carried out as part of a systematic reduction in the offensive potential of the russian aggressor. This was reported by the press center of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Currently, the extent of damage to russian infrastructure is being clarified. The Hvardiyske airfield is one of the key military airfields of the russian federation on the peninsula. The occupiers use it to base operational-tactical and naval aircraft, provide combat sorties, logistics, and maintenance of their aircraft.

In addition to the Crimean airfield, the Ukrainian military cut off important supply routes to the enemy in the Donetsk Region. The automobile bridge over the Hruzskyi Yalanchik River in the Huselnikovo area and the automobile bridge over the Kalmius River in the Staromaryivka area were hit. The invaders actively used these facilities to transfer personnel, heavy weapons, ammunition, and other material and technical resources to the front line.

The Defense Forces also successfully demilitarized three enemy ammunition depots in different sections of the front. The explosions occurred in the Makiivka area of the Donetsk Region, in the Dovzhansk area of the Luhansk Region, and also near Preobrazhenka, in the Kherson Region.
