Ex-NBU chair Serhii Arbuzov to run for russian state duma from Just russia party

Former National Bank of Ukraine chairman and former Deputy Vice Minister Serhii Arbuzov plans to run for the State Duma of the aggressor country from Just russia party.

This was reported by the russian state propaganda agency RIA Novosti, citing its own source.

According to the agency's interlocutor, Arbuzov will be nominated on a list that includes the territories of Ukraine occupied by russia, as well as Crimea and Sevastopol.

"A well-known Ukrainian politician, in the past the head of the National Bank, and later the first deputy head of the government of Ukraine, Serhii Arbuzov, will be nominated for the group of new territories, as well as Crimea and Sevastopol," RIA Novosti quotes a source.

The elections of MPs of the State Duma of the russian federation are scheduled for September 18-20.

Who is Serhii Arbuzov

Serhii Arbuzov headed the National Bank of Ukraine in 2010-2012. In December 2012, he became the first vice prime minister in the government of Mykola Azarov.

After the resignation of the Azarov government, Arbuzov served as the acting prime minister of Ukraine from January 28 to February 27, 2014.
