Zelenskyy after conversation with Trump stated about real prospect of ending war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump. After the talks, the Ukrainian leader said that he sees a real prospect of ending the war, and US determination will be crucial for this.

The phone call was first reported by Axios journalist Barak Ravid, citing his own sources. Later, the information was confirmed by Ukrainian President's advisor Dmytro Lytvyn.

During the conversation, Zelenskyy congratulated Trump on US Independence Day and thanked Washington for its military and political support for Ukraine.

The day before, on July 4, Donald Trump also had a telephone conversation with Kremlin leader vladimir putin. This was reported by russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, who is quoted by russian state agencies.

According to Ushakov, putin congratulated Trump on the 250th anniversary of US independence and stated about russia's alleged contribution to the formation of American statehood.
