The leader of the Polish opposition Law and Justice party, Jarosław Kaczyński, has called on party members to use "all available means" to prevent Ukraine's accession to the European Union "on privileged terms."

This is stated in a letter to party members dated July 1, which was obtained by Polsat News journalists.

In his address, Kaczyński claims that after 2023, relations between Poland and Ukraine will increasingly be built on a "slavish model of unilateral subordination to the interests or whims" of Ukraine.

He also stated that Poland bears significant financial costs due to its support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian army. In addition, the politician wrote that without large-scale international assistance, the Ukrainian state would allegedly not be able to ensure its functioning.

In the letter, the former prime minister emphasized that Poland, according to him, does not object to the development of Ukrainian identity. At the same time, he stated that Ukraine should not become a member of the European Union without changing its approach to historical politics.

"Ukraine with the cult of Bandera and other criminals, glorification of the UPA and OUN will not enter the European Union! If we win the elections, we will certainly not allow this," Kaczyński wrote.

He also called on members of the Law and Justice party to use all available means to block Ukraine's accelerated accession to the EU.
