The Polish Ministry of Defense will gradually phase out its MiG-29 aircraft because Ukraine has refused to transfer drone technology. It was reported by Wirtualna Polska.

Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that Ukraine allegedly initially agreed to exchange technology for the aircraft but is not honoring this agreement. Instead of the transfer, the MiG-29s will be gradually phased out of service.

Due to the achievement of target operational capabilities and the lack of prospects for further modernization within the Polish Armed Forces, they will periodically be withdrawn from service in the Polish Armed Forces,” the country’s Ministry of Defense noted.

The Polish Ministry of Defense will not disclose the dates for phasing out the MiG-29s. The schedule will remain classified and will not be made public.
