Death toll in Kyiv rises to 30: three bodies recovered from rubble
Rescuers in Kyiv recovered three more bodies from the rubble—bringing the death toll from the russian shelling on the night of July 2 to 30.
It was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Earlier, it was reported that one victim had died at a medical facility, and rescuers had recovered another victim from the rubble.
“Kyiv: Three more bodies have been recovered. The death toll has risen to 30 people,” the statement reads.
As a reminder, on the night of July 2, russia, the aggressor nation, launched a massive attack on Kyiv. The strike damaged residential buildings, a market, and other civilian infrastructure, including the building housing one of the emergency medical care substations.
During the massive shelling of the capital on the night of July 2, russian troops fired a record number of ballistic missiles, according to Yurii Ihnat, the head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Air Forces Command.
As a result of the shelling, the Regional Intensive Care Hospital—which had been evacuated from Mariupol—was damaged, and the central warehouse of logistics partner Denka Logistics, where books published by BookChef were stored, was destroyed.
At the Kyiv Zoo, animals were injured and buildings were damaged, and a warehouse belonging to the MOYO electronics and technology chain was completely destroyed by fire. Energy infrastructure was also damaged, leaving some residents of the capital without power.
