The High Anti-Corruption Court upheld the preventive measure imposed on Andrii Yermak, former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, specifically regarding the requirement to wear an electronic ankle monitor.

It was reported by the court, according to the Ukrainian News agency.

On June 29, an investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court denied a motion by the defense team of the former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine to change the pretrial measure, specifically to lift the requirement to wear an electronic monitoring device.

As a reminder, the court had previously imposed a preventive measure on him in the form of pretrial detention, with the alternative of posting bail in the amount of UAH 140 million. Since the specified amount was paid, the suspect was released from custody; however, he was subject to a number of procedural obligations, including the requirement to wear an electronic ankle monitor.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Yermak spent the weekend in a pretrial detention center, where he was placed following a ruling by the High Anti-Corruption Court; however, today, after bail was posted, he was released from the detention center. A bail of UAH 140 million was posted for Yermak.
