Prices for new crop potatoes continue to fall in Ukraine
As the supply of 2026 crop potatoes increases on the Ukrainian market, prices for these products continue to decline significantly.
This is stated in a report by the EastFruit project, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The report states that today producers are ready to ship new crop potatoes for UAH 20-30 per kilogram, which is on average 22% cheaper than a week earlier.
Key market players attribute the price drop in this segment to an increase in the supply of new crop potatoes from local farms, and a sharper drop in price, according to them, is avoided due to the sufficiently high demand in the early product segment.
It is noted that the cost of potatoes on the Ukrainian market is already on average 10% lower than in the same period last year.
At the same time, most market players tend to believe that prices for these products will continue to decline in the coming weeks, as the supply of new crop potatoes will continue to increase every day.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, at the end of May, prices for last year's potatoes in Ukraine began to gradually increase.
