On the night of June 21–22, moscow came under a massive drone attack. According to russian authorities, air defense forces allegedly shot down nearly 60 drones heading toward the russian capital.

The mayor of moscow Sergei Sobyanin began reporting on the air defense operations around 3:00 a.m. Kyiv time. He initially stated that 27 drones had been neutralized, and later reported an additional 32 drones.

In response to the attack, temporary restrictions were imposed at moscow’s airports. In particular, operations were suspended at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports. Earlier, restrictions had also been imposed at Sheremetyevo Airport.

Videos of drones in flight and the sounds of explosions in various areas of the moscow oblast were shared on russian Telegram channels and local public groups.

At the same time, russian authorities, as usual, have not disclosed details regarding the possible consequences of the attack. Sobyanin merely noted that emergency services are working at the sites where debris fell.

As a reminder, residents of the moscow oblast reported an “oil rain” following a drone attack on the moscow Oil Refinery.
