Government plans to increase minimum wage by 10.4% in 2027 - MP Vasylevska-Smahliuk

The Cabinet of Ministers plans to increase the minimum wage by 10.4% in 2027.

This was announced by Olha Vasylevska-Smahliuk, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy (Servant of the People faction), on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In particular, Vasylevska-Smahliuk reported that in the presence of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and the entire government, Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko presented the budget declaration for 2027-2029 to the coalition council.

The Ministry of Finance presented the key priorities of the Budget Declaration for 2027-2029, with the main emphasis on maintaining social support for citizens, raising social standards, and preparing for new challenges in the process of restoring the country.

Among the main priorities: maintaining the expenditures provided for in the 2026 budget, in particular, financing screening programs, student nutrition, teacher remuneration, and demographic development measures. It is planned to increase social standards and guarantees at a rate that is ahead of inflation.

In particular, the minimum wage is projected to increase:

in 2027 - by 10.4%;

in 2028 - by 8.7%;

in 2029 - by 7.1%;

the subsistence minimum:

in 2027 - by 10.9%;

in 2028 - by 8.9%;

in 2029 - by 7.1%.

According to the MP, Svyrydenko reported that she had a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who raised the issue of reforming labor remuneration, a full reform will require about UAH 320 billion.

"But, as Svyrydenko says, it makes sense to start this discussion so that the first salary revisions can take place soon. The government also plans to increase the minimum wage. Over the course of three years, it is projected to increase by almost 29%," she said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to the state budget for 2026, the minimum wage from January 1, 2026 is set at a monthly rate of UAH 8,647; hourly rate - UAH 52.
