The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) struck "Tamanneftegaz," a key hydrocarbon transshipment complex in southern russia. Drones struck five storage tanks containing petroleum products in the tank farm.

Two oil loading stands at the terminal were also targeted in the attack.

The SSU press service has reported this.

The agency stated that the successful strikes on the oil and gas terminal in the Krasnodar Krai of the russian federation were carried out by soldiers of the SSU’s “Alpha” Special Operations Center in conjunction with the Special Operations Forces and the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Following the attack, fires broke out in the area of the freight transport parking lot and the "Tamanneftegaz" storage infrastructure. Russian air defense positions covering the facility were also hit.

"The Russian oil and gas complex is a source of funding for the war against Ukraine. It is these oil dollars that are being turned into missiles, drones, and ammunition with which the enemy attacks our cities. Therefore, the SSU will continue to systematically deprive the Russian war machine of the resources needed to wage war," the SSU stated.

Following the strike on the "Tamanneftegaz" hydrocarbon transshipment complex in southern russia, fires have been reported in the port of Taman.

The NASA FIRMS portal, which tracks fires in real time, shows that the first fire broke out on the territory of the company’s hydrocarbon gas terminal. The second fire was recorded in the area of the freight transport parking lot and warehouse infrastructure.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, local authorities also confirmed the attack. Russian officials described the strike on a legitimate target as “terrorism.”
