Russian drone hits spent nuclear fuel storage facility in Kyiv Region

On the night of June 7, a russian drone attacked the building of the Centralized Spent Nuclear Fuel Storage Facility in the Kyiv Region. There were no injuries, and the radiation background at the facility remains within normal limits.

As a result of the strike, the container reception building was partially damaged. The company clarified that no spent nuclear fuel was stored in this building.

After the hit, a fire of 40 square meters broke out. It has already been extinguished.

According to Energoatom, there are no injuries among the personnel. The radiation situation at the Central Nuclear Fuel and Energy Facility site remains within normal limits.

The company also reported that the situation at the facility is constantly monitored by the responsible services.

"Another strike on a nuclear infrastructure facility once again demonstrated to the whole world the true face of the Kremlin regime, which deliberately creates threats to nuclear and radiation safety. Russia continues to act as a terrorist state and a nuclear terrorist, disregarding international law and the safety of millions of people," Energoatom said.
