Government expands list of young doctors who can receive UAH 200,000 from state - Svyrydenko

The Cabinet of Ministers has expanded the list of young doctors eligible to receive UAH 200,000 in targeted employment assistance from the state. Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced this on her Telegram channel, according to the Ukrainian News agency.

According to her, graduates of medical programs who have completed their residency at state higher education institutions and have secured employment for at least three years at state- or municipally-owned healthcare facilitiesin communities where there is a critical need for medical workers.

Previously, the program applied to graduates who began working in areas of active combat operations and in rural areas.

From now on, young doctors who have been employed by healthcare facilities in areas of potential combat operations (excluding the Kyiv Region and cities of regional significance—Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv) can also take advantage of it.

According to Svyrydenko, the decision aims to strengthen the capacity of the healthcare system and ensure that healthcare facilities in regions where the healthcare system remains under increased strain and there is a shortage of doctors in various specialties are staffed with the necessary specialists.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in May 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers introduced a one-time payment of UAH 200,000 for medical school graduates who take jobs at rural healthcare facilities or in combat zones.
