EBRD downgrades Ukraine's GDP growth forecast for 2026 from 2.5% to 2.2%
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has downgraded Ukraine's GDP growth forecast for 2026 from 2.5% to 2.2%.
This is stated in the bank's materials, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that the prospects for the Ukrainian economy remain dependent on the course of hostilities and the volume of international aid, and among the main risks is a possible energy crisis, in particular against the backdrop of the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East, which may affect the stability of the Ukrainian energy system.
The forecast for 2027 remains unchanged - GDP growth at 4%, provided that the intensity of hostilities decreases and the economy begins to recover.
The bank also notes the strengthening of inflationary pressure after a period of slowdown, in particular due to the rise in world energy prices.
This increases business and household spending and contributes to the restoration of inflationary dynamics.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine's GDP grew by 0.9% in April after a decline in the first quarter.
