Units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have carried out large-scale strikes against a number of strategic and military targets within the russian federation and in the temporarily occupied territories. In particular, in addition to a confirmed attack on oil infrastructure, Ukrainian forces managed to strike enemy warships in the Baltic Sea. This is stated in an official statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine summarizing combat operations on June 2 and during the night of June 3, 2026.

Military command confirmed the successful strike on the “St. Petersburg” oil terminal in the Leningrad Oblast, where a massive fire broke out following the explosions. This facility is one of the largest oil product transshipment complexes in the Baltic region, with a throughput capacity of 10 million tons per year, and is actively involved in meeting the logistical needs of the russian army. At the same time, the "Progress" plant in Michurinsk, the "Saky" airfield, the "Ilsky" oil refinery, and the "Zenzevatka" oil pumping station were also targeted. Meanwhile, the most critical details of the nighttime operation concern the attack on a russian naval base.

"On June 2 and during the night of June 3, 2026, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of key facilities belonging to the Russian occupiers. In particular, the “St. Petersburg” oil terminal (St. Petersburg, Leningrad Oblast, russian federation) was struck. The strike on the target was confirmed, followed by a fire on the terminal’s grounds,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated.

Separately, the report noted the successful actions of units in the waters of the Baltic Sea, where russian naval bases came under fire. In addition to oil facilities, according to preliminary information from the military, Ukrainian forces managed to strike ships and infrastructure facilities in the port of Kronstadt.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, a massive fire broke out at an oil terminal in St. Petersburg following a drone strike.

On May 28 and during the night of May 29, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of key targets belonging to the russian occupiers, including the Volgograd Oil Refinery, the "Yaroslavl-3" oil pumping station, a "Tor-M2" air defense system, a logistics warehouse, and UAV command posts.

Additionally, on the night of May 31, Ukrainian defenders struck the Saratov Oil Refinery, where a large-scale fire has been reported. Among other targets of the occupying state that were struck is the "Lazarevo" line production and dispatch station in the Kirov Oblast of the russian federation.
