In May, the enemy used 7,500 guided aerial bombs, there were more only in March.
This was outlined by the Ministry of Defense, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Without significant successes at the front and facing stiff resistance from the Defense Forces, the russian troops relied on aerial terror. During the month, the enemy used 7,500 aerial bombs equipped with universal planning and correction modules (guided aerial bombs). According to the General Staff, this is the second month in terms of the number of guided aerial bombs since the start of the full-scale invasion. There were more only in March - 7,987," the report says.
The Ministry of Defense notes that the tension on the front line in the last month of spring reached its maximum indicators, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 7,008 combat clashes were recorded in May, which indicates an increase in the intensity of enemy actions.
More than 300 combat clashes were recorded per day, the hottest day of the month was May 26 - 317 combat clashes occurred during this day.
In parallel, the enemy continued to conduct dense fire along the entire contact line and in peaceful cities. In total, in May, the enemy carried out more than 96,000 attacks, of which more than 1,800 were launched from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
According to the Ministry of Defense, during April, 5,085 combat clashes occurred on the front, the enemy fired almost 7,000 guided aerial bombs at the positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine expects the first batch of Swedish JAS 39 Gripen fighters along with Meteor long-range air-to-air missiles within the next 10 months, which will give the Air Force more opportunities to counter russian aviation and anti-aircraft missiles.
