On May 31, the Cabinet of Ministers completed the "Cashback on Fuel" program, which started on March 20.

This was announced on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The report states that during the program's operation, since March 20, almost 2.3 million Ukrainians have used it.

It is noted that the government introduced cashback on fuel in March 2026 as a temporary anti-crisis tool in response to the sharp increase in world prices for petroleum products due to the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East.

The program was primarily aimed at owners of mass-segment cars, for whom fuel costs are a significant part of the family budget, and 91% of program users are owners of budget-class cars with a small engine capacity.

Cashback was accrued automatically during non-cash payment for fuel at gas stations participating in the program.

The amount of compensation was 15% for diesel fuel, 10% for gasoline and 5% for liquefied gas.

Cashback on fuel was initially considered a temporary support tool and is being completed in accordance with the approved deadlines.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, from March 20 to May, the government introduced partial compensation for Ukrainians for fuel purchased at gas stations under the "National Cashback" program: for diesel - 15%, for gasoline - 10%, for automobile gas - 5%.

According to the Ministry of Economy, this will allow saving from UAH 2 to UAH 11 on each liter.

At the end of April, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the "Cashback on Fuel" program, which started on March 20, until May 31, 2026.
