Enemy troops attack Ukraine with 7 missiles and 290 drones during night - report by Air Forces of Armed Forces of Ukraine

On the night of May 29–30, russia launched a new air attack on Ukraine: the enemy deployed 297 air-launched weapons, including one ballistic missile and six cruise missiles, as well as 290 drones of various types. Air defense forces intercepted 284 targets, including five missiles.

Strikes were recorded at a number of locations.

Details were reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Starting at 6:00 p.m. on May 29, throughout the night and into the morning, the enemy attacked Ukrainian cities and villages with an Iskander-M ballistic missile from the Bryansk Oblast of the russian federation, six Kh-101 cruise missiles from the Vologda Oblast of the russian federation, as well as 290 UAVs — including strike UAVs such as the Shahed (including jet-powered ones), Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodiya-type decoy drones from the directions of the russian cities of Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Cape Chauda in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 9 a.m., air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 284 targets — five Kh-101 missiles and 279 enemy UAVs of various types in the north, south, center, and east of the country.

Nine strike UAVs were recorded hitting seven locations, and debris was found at ten locations. Additionally, two enemy missiles (a cruise missile and a ballistic missile) failed to reach their targets; details regarding them are being clarified, the Air Forces added.

At the time of publication, the attack was ongoing, and enemy drones remained in Ukrainian airspace.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in the Sumy Region overnight, the russians once again launched a massive drone attack on the Shostka community. Some of the enemy drones were destroyed, but there were also hits.
