Large fragment of missile with serial numbers found on roof of Chornobyl Museum in Kyiv

While clearing the rubble on the roof of the National Chornobyl Museum in Kyiv, a large part of a missile that hit the building during a recent shelling was discovered. Experts are already working to identify it. This was reported in a post by the head of the Chornobyl Operators Association, Yaroslav Yemelyanenko, in Threads.

According to Yemelyanenko, work is currently underway at the impact site in Podil to eliminate the consequences of the enemy attack. Municipal services and rescuers are clearing away the rubble, evacuating damaged cars and dismantling the destroyed parts of the roof. The most important find during these works was the large remnant of a missile discovered on the roof.

"The remnant is quite large, it has serial numbers on it, the explosives technicians have already worked it out, but eventually we will be able to locate those missiles, and then we will know more details about what really happened," said Yaroslav Yemelyanenko.

He also added that the area around the museum has already been opened for pedestrians and vehicles, but the most dangerous areas still remain fenced off.

As a reminder, on the night of May 24, during the massive russian attack on Kyiv, a missile hit the building of the National Chornobyl Museum in Podil. As a result of the impact, a fire broke out, the roof and part of the wall of one of the exhibition halls were damaged. According to the head of the Association of Chornobyl Operators, the renovated museum exposition, which was opened only a month ago after resoration, also suffered significant damage. Workers managed to save some of the artifacts, but some unique exhibits were completely destroyed or significantly damaged.

As a reminder, as a result of the russian strike on Kyiv, about 40% of the exhibits from the exposition of the National Museum "Chornobyl" were lost.
